Digital Terrain Modeling
Digital Terrain Modeling (DTM), also known as 3D surface modeling, is the process of using design data to create a representation of the proposed physical surface for a project. This surface is then used as the model within heavy equipment that has been upfitted with GPS hardware. The use of this "Machine-Controlled" equipment can greatly speed up the process of site preparation/construction with a competitive advantage over contractors that may not be using this technology.
Our staff will provide an additional layer of quality control to the project by reviewing plans for potential constructability issues while creating the DTMs. M-III will bring any problems to the contractor’s & engineer’s attention before field crews discover the problems. We will then work with the engineer to help correct any problems long before these problems cost the contractor money due to delays.
